Large Hot Tubs

Large hot tubs and spas are making a come back as evident by the number of manufacturers releasing bigger, higher occupancy hot tub models. There are some nice benefits of owning a large hot tub. Some of those things include;

1. More Seating Space – a standard 7 foot or 8 foot hot tubs fits between 4-6 people comfortably. Sure you can fit as many as 8 people crammed into an 8 foot hot tub with all bench seating (no lounger) but it isn’t comfortable and you better like the people your sardined in there with. An 8′ x 9′ hot tub or 8′ x 11′ hot tub is much more comfortable and spacious if you plan on entertaining a lot or if you have a big family.
2. More Footwell Space – many people look at a 7′ or 8′ square hot tub and, at first glance, think they are “big” but the reality is that when you actually get 4 adults sitting in the spa it starts to feel a lot smaller. More importantly, the precious real estate in the hot tub isn’t always the seating it’s the footwell space. Footwell are typically 3′ in diameter which isn’t a lot of space when you get four sets of legs in there (or more). You legs get tangled and next thing you know you are playing footsies with the person across from you. Larger hot tubs tend to be rectangular and the footwell becomes much larger making it more comfortable with all of those legs in there.
3. Mini Pool – an 8′ x 9′ hot tub or 8′ x 11′ hot tub starts to feel like a small pool which is especially nice if you have lots of children. You can drop the temperature down to about 80-90 degrees during the summer months and it becomes a nice little plunge pool.
