As odd as it sounds soaking in a hot tub or spa with little to no jets is more common than you would think. I can’t tell you how many times in all of my years of hot tub retail experience that I’ve had buyers tell me that they want a hot tub with as few jets as possible. Many have even said that they don’t even turn on their jets because they don’t want to be bothered with the noise and irritation that jets can cause. They simply wanted to relax in hot water much like soaking in a hot bath. I have to admit that most of these buyers were second or third time hot tub owners and felt that given their experience hot tubs with lots of jets and pumps that they didn’t care for them.
It seems that a hot tub manufacturer actually listened to this odd but common request and is actually producing a hot tub line to cater to those people. Clearwater Spas has released their new Tranquil Series hot tubs and spas. The line consist of three very basic models that offer no jets (or jet pumps). The models simply offer a filtration system, circulation pump, and heater so that you can run them up to 104 degrees just like any other self contained, portable hot tub but without any therapy jets. The units also offer nicer water management systems such as their “Clear” system or ozone water purification in order to cut down the chemical usage. The units also operate on 110v (plug and play) or 220v (hard wired) electrical connection.
We don’t anticipate these model being a smashing success, however, they do fit in the hot tub marketplace and the demand is there. Also due to the simplicity they models will fall into more of a budget price range of $5000-7000.
The three models are:
- Clearwater Spas TS76 – 6 person, 76″ x 76″ x 34″ with all bucket seats
- Clearwater Spas TS76L – 5 person, 76″ x 76″ x 34″ with one lounger and buckets seats
- Clearwater Spas TS76R – 3 Person, 76″ x 53″ x 34″ with all bucket seats
