In industry news, Jacuzzi Brands has acquired Lake Mary, Florida based Dream Maker Spas. It doesn’t come as a huge surprise as Dream Maker has strategically aligned its rotational molded hot tubs with Jacuzzi hot tub dealers around the country over the last 10 years making itself a prime acquisition target. Dream Maker’s roto-mold hot tubs complemented Jacuzzi showroom floors nicely because they offered a $3000-$6000 price points that Jacuzzi didn’t offer.
Jacuzzi Brands shares the throne of the largest hot tub manufacturer in the world with Watkins Wellness Brands (HotSpring Spas, Caldera Spas, Freeflow Spas) who made a similar move back in 2011 when they acquired Freeflow Spas (formerly American Hydrotherapy Systems) to accomplish the very same thing.
Mergers and acquisitions continue in the hot tub industry as larger manufacturers continue to desire growth. We suspect 2020 will see several more transactions like this before the end of the year.
