Trinseo, a global manufacturer of plastics, latex, and rubber has announced it has entered into an agreement with SK AA Holdings LLC to acquire Aristech Surfaces LLC. Aristech Acrylics is one of the leading suppliers of polymethyl methacrylates cast acrylics and solid surface acrylic sheets (PMMA). Aristech Acrylics supplies acrylic solutions to hot tub manufacturers, architectural, transportation, and industrial markets. Specific customers include hot tub and swim spa manufacturers, bathtub manufacturers, counter top manufacturers, signage manufacturers, and recreational vehicle manufacturers. The acquisition will position Trinseo as a top global supplier in the PMMA space. The deal is set to value Aristech at $445 million and close by the end of 2021 subject to conditions and approvals.
