At Hot Tub Insider, we bring together over 25 years of hot tub industry knowledge and experience. We have literally seen and heard it all— from sales and marketing gimmicks to pricing shenanigans to the common challenges customers face every day. To make matters worse, every brand and salesperson has a narrative which can be confusing and contradictory making it hard to distinguish the truth. On this forum, you can ask us any specific questions about your upcoming hot tub purchase, and one of our experts will personally respond.
With that said, as a business, we offer premium services like our buyer’s consult and phone consult, which are a great value and can give you assurance knowing you have an advocate on your side to save you time and money. For that reason, our correspondence on this forum will be limited.

What brand do you think is better? Sundance or Jacuzzi?
Hi Jon. First of Sundance and Jacuzzi are owned by the same parent company and therefore share alot of the same DNA and quality/performance characteristics. These are both higher end brands, however, I feel that they are a bit on the pricier side of the market. There are other premium/high quality brands that I think are a much better value.
I’ve narowed my search down to 2 different hot tubs. The Hot Springs Envoy and the Master Spas LSX 900. Which would be the better purchase?
Tyler – Given these two models, if I had to choose, I would probably go with the Hotsprings as I believe it’s a better quality hot tub even though you get more for the money with the LSX900 (bigger tub, more jets, and extra motor). I’m not sure what market you’re in but I think you could do better than either of these two for the money.
Happy to make some suggestions if you’re open to considering other brands/models.
I’m considering an American Select Hatley Spa. I know nothing about spas & this would our first one. I’m looking at buying one mainly for therapy, back problems and secondly for relaxation. Thank you for any advice
Hi Sharman. Happy to give you some feedback and recommendations of other brands. Is there a good time to connect via phone?
Regards,
Michael
Found someone about an hour away from me that is selling their used hot tub on Facebook marketplace. He says it is a 2020 Marquis Hollywood and is selling it from $2,500. Says it is in good shape, doesn’t have any issues, hasn’t replaced any pumps or heaters. Says he is moving out of the area and doesn’t want to take it with them. Any idea if this is a good deal? Any other questions I should ask before possibly going to see it?
Hi Adam. Honestly, it really depends on the condition. You’d have to see it in person. If it appears to be in good shape and everything is running and there are no leaks I would say 2000 to 2500 would be a fair price.
